Borovets is the largest and most popular ski resort in Bulgaria situated in the Rila mountains.A wide range of slopes are available suitable for total beginners through to the experts whether you are skiing or snowboarding.Ski/board lessons can be booked at the resort for all abilities.
The centre of the resort is situated just 15 mins drive from the house - transfers by private mini bus can be arranged or buses and taxis are also available.Night skiing/boarding is available most nights until 10.00pm, great if you prefer to lie in and start the skiing later in the day.
Ski/board hire and boot hire is available from many hire depots in the centre at a cost of around half that of French resorts, skis and boots can be left at the depot each night. Our local contact can arrange this for you. For further services please see 'Getting There'.
Ski lift passes are also priced around half that of a French resort and are purchased from the gondola station in the centre, prices are even cheaper for a half day or at weekends so I would recommend buying them daily not weekly. Skidoos can be hired at a fraction of the cost of other resorts.
Children's activities include sleigh and bumboard hire at the lower parts of the slopes, horse and cart trips, ski lessons for juniors, indoor bowling at a Borovets hotel and a kindergarten is available for the young ones.
